Hidden within the lush river valleys that carve through Ubud’s tropical forest, Ubud Jungle Bass & Breath offers an escape that starkly contrasts with the village’s traditional, slow-paced, and quiet image. This venue is built for those seeking catharsis through two seemingly opposing elements: the deep, intense vibrations of electronic music, and ancient mindfulness and breathwork practices. It is a brilliant fusion of a tribal nightclub in the middle of the jungle and a sanctuary for absolute restoration.
Architecturally, the venue is a masterpiece of biophilic design. Constructed from organically curved giant bamboo and reclaimed wood, the structure resembles a magnificent bird’s nest floating above the forest canopy. The main area is a multi-level, open-air deck facing directly onto the steep river cliff. During the day, sunlight filters through the dense foliage, creating an illuminated space for plant-based gastronomy sourced directly from local permaculture gardens, paired beautifully with soothing herbal infusions.
As the sun sets, the atmosphere shifts dramatically. Warm amber lighting begins to illuminate the surrounding trees, and a world-class sound system starts broadcasting deep jungle bass and organic house music. The dining deck transforms into a primal yet sophisticated dance floor, where guests can dance barefoot under the stars, fully immersed in the rhythm of the forest.
The Breath phase takes over as dawn breaks. After a high-energy night, guests are guided to a meditation pavilion situated closer to the river’s edge. Here, they undergo expert-led holotropic breathwork and ice bath sessions. The loud beats of the previous night are entirely replaced by the rushing river and the sounds of awakening wildlife, providing an instant and profound nervous system reset, leaving every guest ready to face the day with absolute mental clarity.
